A View of the Entire Railroad

Welcome To E&A Trains

In the real world, this is just a simple G-scale layout setup on our porch. It started in 1992 and is still growing. It consists of two ovals and some sidings. Three steam and four diesel locomotives, plus a little hand cart. There's also a Christmas train that we keep out there for fun. Some twenty-three cars roam around behind the various engines. Wood, cardboard, and plastic buildings fill in the gaps between tracks. It's just a normal layout, built by normal people, with normal supplies, in a normal house.

The Supplies

We use LGB, Aristocraft, and Bachmann trains. For buildings we either make them ourselves or buy them as kits from Pola. We usually get these and most supplies from Star Hobby, a hobby shop in Arnold, Maryland. Links to all of the companies listed above can be found in the Links page. Other supplies that are not involved with the actual trains are bought at regular stores. Example: The "grass" we use is actually a carpet that people would use to put on their outdoors porch (ours is indoors). We got this from a Home Depot or something. This is purchased in large rolls, and works better and is more realistic than the paper-like grass we got at a hobby store somewhere.

Pennsylvania Railroad's Logo

But From A Fictional Perspective

It takes on a whole new form. It suddenly becomes Pennsylvania Railroad, the number 1 railroad in the world. This world-wide railroad has trains that go under the oceans and over the mountains. PRR's headquarters, in Maryland, is where this layout takes place. It's full of thriving businesses, from schools to auto repair centers to restaurants to hotels. There's even a eleven story high skyscraper full of condos.
